James ""Jack"" Roy Walters, 86, of Wappapello, Mo., formerly of St. Louis, Mo. died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at Charlevoix Healthcare Center in St. Charles, Mo.
Mr. Walters was born April 28, 1927 to the late George W. and Fannie (Hibdon) Walters. He was of the Baptist faith and had retired as a teamster worker for Madison Warehouse, Inc. in St. Louis. Mr. Walters was a member of the Wappapello Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing cards.
On Sept. 12 1950, he married Betty Jean Snider in Piggott, Ark. She preceded him in death on April 28, 1999.
Survivors include two children: Patricia Wamganz and Ronnie Walters both of Wentzville, Mo.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Jones of Afton, Mo.
Two children, Janet Stephens and Donald Walters also preceded Mr. Walters in death.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Wappapello, Mo. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral chapel with Pastor Tim Schultz officiating. Burial will be at Little Brushy Cemetery in Wappapello.
