James ""Dobie"" Withrow, 82, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Mr. Withrow was born Sept. 4, 1927 in Poplar Bluff. He was a member of the Third Baptist Church, and was a retired baker. Over the years Mr. Withrow worked for Toellner's Bakery, Chicken D's, Snider's IGA as well as Rowland Stollen Bakery. He enjoyed spending time with his family and church family, bowling, cooking and watching the St. Louis Cardinal's play baseball.
On Oct. 21, 1989 he married Ruthie Luttrull. She survives.
Other survivors include five daughters: Delores Reno and husband George F. of Poplar Bluff, Jeanette Dismuke and husband Bardis of Harviell, Nancy Ellsworth of Poplar Bluff, Tammy Davis and husband David of Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., and Tracie Luttrull of Poplar Bluff; four sons: Delbert Withrow and wife Johnnie of Wappapello, Mark Withrow and wife Sharon of Vincent, Ala., Nathan Withrow and wife Evelyn of Tampa, Fla. and Teddy Dewayne Luttrull of Wappapello; grandchildren: Jamie Reno, Jeremy Withrow, John Martin Withrow, Bardis Dismuke III, Terri Stinnett, Jason Stout, Brandi Bain, Caleb Withrow, Randy Dillon Withrow, Cody Allen Withrow, Nathan Withrow, Jr., Seth Kyser, Elise Kyser, Nikki Burpo, Justin Davis, Teddy Michael Luttrull, Dewayne Dustin Luttrull, Mackenzy Yokel and Amy Yokel; great-grandchildren: Paige Reno, Trenton Reno, Tobin Withrow, Laurajo Dismuke, Jacob Stinnett, Josh Stinnett, Bobby Bain, Mattie Kyser, Saige Davis, Heaven Burpo and Cameron Burpo; sister, Lillian Smith of Santa Ana, Calif.; and brothers, Donald Withrow of Anaheim, Calif. and Jimmy Burts of Bremerton, Calif.
Mr. Withrow was preceded in death by his parents, Oakley Withrow and Thelma Adams Ramsey, sister, Irene Bagby, brothers, Marvin Withrow and Delbert Withrow and grandson, Michael Sean Stout.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Mayes officiating and the Rev. Tommy Knodell assisting. Burial will be at Little Brushy Cemetery in Wappapello.
