Jamie Louise McClure, 83, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. McClure was born Oct. 1, 1928 in Ripley, Tenn. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and had retired as a nurse. Mrs. McClure was a member and past president of the Democrat Women's Club, and was a member of American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On May 21, 1948, she married Alvin Glenn McClure in Piggott, Ark. Mr. McClure preceded her in death on July 3, 1973.
Survivors include her children, Jerry Lee McClure and wife Nancy of Poplar Bluff and Glenda Kay Barbour and husband David of Prosperity, SC; three grandchildren, Dustin McClure and Brian McClure all of Dallas, Tex. and Chuck McClure and wife Lori of Poplar Bluff; five great-grandchildren, Storm McClure, Garrett McClure, Logan McClure, Asher McClure and Blake McClure; brother, Chick Clark of Brownfield, Tex.; special sister-in-law, Laura Clark of Brownfield, Tex.; and special brother-in-law, Charles McClure and wife Carol of Oklahoma.
Her father, James Clay Clark, and mother and stepfather, Zona Louise (Brinkley) Clark and Henry L. Yamnitz also preceded Mrs. McClure in death.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel with Rev. Dave McCormack officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
