Janette Lourance, 77, of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at her residence in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Lourance was born Nov. 18, 1934 in Poplar Bluff. She was affiliated with the Jehovah Witness faith, and. was a homemaker. During her earlier years she worked as a beautician as well as an assembly line worker at Carter Carburetor in St. Louis. Mrs. Lourance enjoyed oil painting, sewing, quilting, cooking, and spending time with her family. She and her husband spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying all of nature.
On Sept. 2, 1950 she married William Earl ""Bud"" Lourance in Piggott, AR, who preceded her in death on April 7, 2012.
Survivors include a daughter, Gail Fredwell of Poplar Bluff; a niece and nephew they raised, Stacy Owens and husband Jimmy of Williamsville and Bill Tuttle of Poplar Bluff; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Lourance of Cadet, MO; three grandchildren, David Propst, Angela McGrail and husband Sean, and Gene Lourance and wife Lori; seven great-grandchildren, Timothy McGrail, Matthew McGrail, Katelyn McGrail, Molly McGrail, Ashley Lourance, Alex Lourance, and Ryan Lourance; two brothers, Morgan Whittington of Poplar Bluff and Kermit Willis of Greenville, MO; and a sister, Pauline Johnson of Qulin.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Steve Lourance; a son-in-law, Clifford Fredwell; her parents Frank and Pauline (Phelps) Whittington; and a sister, Shirley Kemp.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with Jearl Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Black Creek Cemetery.
