Jay Douglas Hampton, 66, of Wappapello, MO passed away on September 05, 2026, at his residence in Wappapello, MO.

Jay was born on November 30, 1959, to James and Hazel (Schweain) Hampton in Chaffee, MO.

Jay is survived by his children, Shannon Hampton, Steven Hampton, and Anthony Gillum; grandchildren, Taylor, Wyatt, Hannah, Brice, Abigail, and Lucy; brother, Jerry Hampton, and long time girlfriend, Becky and many close friends and relatives that he considered his family.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents, James and Hazel; and his beloved companion, Gus, passed on the same day.

Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 5pm-7pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff, MO.
