Jean Elizabeth Mcdannold

Jean Elizabeth McDannold, 85, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at her resident.
Mrs. McDannold was born Nov. 6, 1925 in Hannibal, Mo. She was a member of Park Methodist Church in Hannibal, Mo., and had retired in 1983 from Hughes Aircraft in California. After retirement, Mrs. McDannold and her husband moved to Mt. Home, Ark., then Jonesboro, Ark. before settling in Poplar Bluff. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and flowers.
On Aug. 15, 1946, she married Eugene L. McDannold in Atwood, Kans. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2005.
Survivors include her daughter, Diana Stotler and husband, Kenneth of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; 2 grandchildren, Kelly Mansfield and husband, Stacy of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Lynette Benefield and husband Tim of Jackson, Mo.; 3 great-grandchildren, Casey Benefield, Joslyn Mansfield and Kennedy Mansfield; sister, Beverly Jones of Joplin, Mo.; and nephew, Tom Jones, also of Joplin, Mo.
Her parents, Earl and Florence York and son, Jimmy McDannold also preceded Mrs. McDannold in death.
The family will receive and visit with friends and other relatives at 1 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel with the Rev. Charles Buck officiating. Interment of Mrs. McDannold's ashes will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo. at a later date.
