Jean Louise Wolf

Jean L. Wolf, 82, of Doniphan Mo., formally of Poplar Bluff, passed away Thursday Dec. 3, 2015 at her daughter's residence.

Mrs. Wolf, the daughter of the late Friend and Marian (Apgar) Lodge, was born July 1, 1933 in Montclair, New Jersey. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she served in the choir, in Quilters Workshop, in Joy Club and on the Altar Guild. She graduated from J.M. Atherton High School in Louisville, Ky. in 1951 and from Syracuse University in 1956 with a B.A. in pre-physical therapy. She went to physical therapy school at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. Mrs. Wolf practiced as a professional physical therapist at Duke Medical Center, at the Butler County Health Center, for United Cerebral Palsy - Big Springs affiliate and for Lucy Lee Hospital Home Health Agency, from which she retired in 1996.

On Sept. 1, 1956, she married George K. Wolf in Louisville, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2003.

Survivors include her four daughters: Kimberly Gladden (Dan) of Independence, Mo.; Robin Sprous (Larry) of Farmington, Mo.; Amy Swafford (Bruce) of Doniphan and Gretchen Sloan (Mack) of Denton, Texas; sisters, Barbara Wranash of Dexter, Mich., and Nancy Lodge of Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren: Angel Chrisman (David), CJ Schlosser, Jared Sprous, Casey Robertson Wyatt (Chad), Mikaela Robertson Adams (Ben), Austin Featherstone and Lauren Featherstone; great-grandchildren, Daisy Chrisman, Aidric Chrisman, Hailey Schlosser, Kaden Schlosser and Caytie Wyatt.

Mrs. Wolf was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Galiette in 2004.

The visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel with Rev. Aaron Burton officiating. Burial will be at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
