Jeane Sue Lawson

Jeane Sue Lawson, 90, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025, at St. Clair Nursing Center.

Jeane was born on August 24, 1934, to Roscoe and June Maxine (Ward) Pridy in Silva, Missouri. She married Thomas Lawson on November 26, 1953, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Jeane was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff. She was a faithful believer of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a former elementary reading teacher for Hazelwood School District for 15 years. Jeane served on several boards and organizations, including ones that helped children with special needs. She loved her family fiercely; they were her greatest joy in life.

Jeane is survived by her daughter, Terry (Nick) Gasaway; six grandchildren, Nancy Cathey, Susan (Ron) Zartman, Rob (Michele) Gasaway, Ann (Matt) McClanahan, Tara (Luke) Bealor, and Thomas (Mike) Munaco; eleven great-grandchildren; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Jeane was preceded by in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Thomas Lawson; two brothers, Sanford and Roger Pridy; sister, Sheryl Pridy.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10:00-11:00am at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Funeral service will follow beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Brandon Spain officiating. Burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
