Jennie L. Combs

Jennie Lee Combs, 87, of Poplar Bluff, died Friday, August 26, 2011 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Ms. Combs was retired as a beautician and owner of Valley Plaza Beauty Salon. She was born July 30, 1924 near Doniphan, Mo. and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Sheila Payne of Poplar Bluff, her longtime companion Ken Pope and his family of Poplar Bluff, one sister, Katherine Killian of Poplar Bluff, one brother Ladd Puryear and wife Barbara of Traverse City, Mich., 6 grandchildren, Duane Payne and wife Lana, Rhonda Smith and husband Rick, Angie Bailey and husband Kevin and Alex, Tyler and Ethan Pope, and four great grandchildren, Duey, Ethan, Marina and Riley Payne.

Preceding Mrs. Combs in death were her parents, Loren and Virgie (VanDover) Puryear.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. ? 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will be at Lone Hill Cemetery in Butler County.
