Jennie Ruth Stout

Jennie Ruth Stout, 50, of Sanford, NC, formerly of Poplar Bluff and Warrensburg, MO, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at her residence after a courageous battle with breast cancer surrounded by her family.
Jennie was born April 16, 1962 in Poplar Bluff. While growing up, she was an active member of the Girl Scouts, at Camp Latonka. Jennie loved the outdoors and flower gardening. She loved to knit, crochet and quilt. She won many awards at The Missouri State Fair with her needlepoint.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff for many years, and later became a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Sanford, NC.
Jennie graduated from Poplar Bluff High School, and attended Three Rivers Community College, where she was a Golden Girl. She then attended University of Missouri in Columbia, where she majored in music and excelled at playing the flute. While at Mizzou she played in the Symphonic Symphony, Marching Mizzou Band, and Mini Mizzou Band.
Over the years Jennie traveled extensively throughout the U.S.A., Germany, and England, playing in special military bands that entertained military dependents, as well as many church orchestras.
Jennie worked as a dental nurse in Warrensburg, MO, and later in Sanford, NC. During her stay in England she became a British certified dental nurse.
On April 20, 1985, she married John Stout at the Wallace Stout Farm in Poplar Bluff. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Lt. Stephen Stout (Christina) of Sanford, NC; her mother, Ann Worland Ruth Pemberton of Quincy, IL; a grandson, Quincy Preston Stout, of Sanford, NC; a sister, Harriet Ruth Shepard (Dr. Michael Shepard) of Poplar Bluff and their daughter, Dr. Kelly L. Dove (Dr. Steve Dove), of Springfield, MO; and a brother, Dr. Harry Ruth (Jennifer) of Quincy, IL and their son, Greg Ruth and daughter Elizabeth Ruth of Quincy, IL; father and mother-in-law, John and Joanne Stout, of Poplar Bluff; brother-in-law, David Stout (Ann) and their children, Courtney and Mackenzie of Kansas City, MO.
Her father, Harry I. Ruth and step father Murl Pemberton also preceded Jennie in death.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. Father David Coon will officiate. Interment will be at City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
The family asks that memorials be made to the local UCAN.
