Jennifer Lynn (Harness) Smith

Jennifer Lynn Smith, 45, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, July 6, 2015 at her residence.

Mrs. Smith, daughter of Kirk Earl Harness and the late Gladys (Dewitt) Sutton, was born Sept. 6, 1969 in South Bend, Ind. She was a member of the Fellowship General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, where she was active in the Fellowship of Acceptance Ministry. Mrs. Smith was a former realtor in Michigan; was an advocate of recovery in the Poplar Bluff community, and a supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and American Heritage Girls. She enjoyed spending time with her family and being outdoors.

On May 18, 1996, she married Dirk Allyn Smith in Fennville, Mich. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two children: Easton Edward James Smith and Emryn Lynette Smith of the home; three stepsons: Kirk Smith of Raleigh NC, Matthew Smith of Gulf Shores, Ala. and Trevor Smith of Holland, Mich.; her father; Kirk Earl Harness and his wife, Jane of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters: Kilene Elisa Harness and Katelyn Elana Harness both of Florida; and a brother, Jason Sutton of Grand Rapids, Mich.

Her paternal grandparents, Earl and Billyann Harness also preceded Mrs. Smith in death.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Fellowship General Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Beck officiating. Burial will be at Marble Hill Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
