Jerlene Elledge, 85, of Poplar Bluff, died March 27, 2009 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Elledge was a homemaker and President of the Missouri District United Pentecostal Church Ladies Ministry for 34 years. She was born May 28, 1923 in Wayne County, Mo. and a member of the Bluff City United Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Elledge also wrote and published two books in the last ten years.
On October 7, 1938 she was married to Rev. Ogle S. Elledge in Poplar Bluff and he preceded her in death on July 19, 1999.
Surviving are six children, Velda Urich and husband Floyd of Poplar Bluff, Rev. Ted Elledge and wife Mary of Poplar Bluff, Carolyn Hastings and husband Odell of Poplar Bluff, Rita Arnold and husband Larry of Kennett, Lana Taylor and husband Wesley of Poplar Bluff and Jerry L. Lewis and wife Carolyn of Poplar Bluff; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Zola Randall of Panama City, Fla., and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Elledge was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn and Lora (Underwood) Crump, a brother Ted Randall and a sister Nadine Yardley.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Monday at the Bluff City United Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Bluff City United Pentecostal Church with Pastor Arnold Mangus officiating. Burial will be in the City Cemetery.
