Jerry Allen Anspach

Jerry Allen Anspach, 72, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Anspach was born Dec. 8, 1936 in Poplar Bluff. He was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School Class of 1954, and as a youth was an avid softball player. Mr. Anspach was of the Protestant faith, and was a former member of the Missouri National Guard. He retired from the Daily American Republic newspaper as a printer after 24 years of service, and later retired from Three Rivers Community College as a security guard. Mr. Anspach enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling and meeting monthly with his high school classmates at Myrtle's Cafe.

On Dec. 15, 1967 he married Paula Hartland in Poplar Bluff. She survives.

Other survivors include two children: Terry Anspach and wife Sheila of Dexter and Kami Ortego and husband Bryan of Poplar Bluff; ten grandchildren: Bryan Shawn Ortego and wife Kami, Bradley Anspach, Ryan Kyle Ortego, Joshua Shane Ortego, Karissa Little, Taylor Baker, Lyta Ortego, Rodney LaBryer, Amanda LaBryer and Travis Hardesty and wife Jamie; six great-grandchildren: Brayden Cochran, Makynna Cochran, Jayden Cochran, Ayden Cochran, Malya Mills and Alaina LaBryer; and a brother, Eugene Anspach and wife Roberta of Tullahoma, Tenn.

Mr. Anspach was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Polly (Prewitt) Anspach, a daughter, Joylynn Anspach, sisters, Judith Kelley and Earline Anspach and a brother, Johnny Anspach.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel with the Rev. Bret Troestel officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
