Jerry D. Garrett, 82, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Friday, Oct. 23, 2015 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Mr. Garrett, son of the late Lawrence and Rose (Joiner) Garrett, was born May 15, 1933 in Williamsville, Mo. He was a member of the Twin Oaks Baptist Church and was owner and operator of the A to Z Auto Salvage. He enjoyed spending time with his family and cars.
On Oct. 11, 1952, he married Ruth Gilbert in Piggott, Ark. She preceded him in death in 1986. On Oct. 6, 1989, he married Ellen Dame in Poplar Bluff. She preceded him in death in 2006.
Survivors include a son; Billy (Sandra) Garrett; two granddaughters: Sarena (David) Hocke and Ashley Garrett; and one great-grandchild, Elan Hocke all of Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Garrett was also preceded in death by brothers, Glenn Garrett and Ronnie Garrett and sisters, Wilma O'Dell and Betty McIver.
The visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. Greg Faughn will officiate. Interment will be at Black River Cemetery off JJ Hwy in Butler County.
