Jessie Lavada Anthony

Jessie Lavada Anthony, 101, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center.

Mrs. Anthony was born June 7, 1912 in Poplar Bluff to Robert M. and Lydia Huskey Sneathern.

On December 28, 1929 she married Charles A. Anthony. He died in 1973.

Mrs. Anthony was a member of 1st Baptist Church, read her bible daily, and enjoyed flowers, gardening and sewing.

Survivors include her children, Marjorie Donley, of Poplar Bluff, and David Anthony (Joyce) of Kennett, daughter in-law, Jennifer Anthony, of Steger, IL, sister in-law Lois Sneathern, of Jonesboro, AR, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Charles A. Anthony, son; Charles Ray, granddaughter; Jennifer L. Anthony, great granddaughter; Brandi Chatman, son in-law; H. Bernell Donley, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, until time of service at 11 a.m. Dr. William Vail will be officiating. Interment will follow at Sparkman Cemetery in Butler County.
