Jimmy Ray Elledge

August 5, 1941 — September 7, 2014

Jimmy Ray Elledge, 73 of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away peacefully September 7th at his home in the arms of Jesus.

Mr. Elledge was born August 5, 1941 in Mills Springs, Mo. to the late Milford and Nettie Elledge.

He and Nancy Brooks were married October 12, 1963. Survivors include his wife, one daughter Nannette (Tim), two grandsons: Jakob and Nickolas, and one granddaughter, Brooke, of Arnold MO.; three sisters: Imogene Sullivan (Mick) of Overland Park, Kansas, Ellen Hall of Moscow Mills, Mo., and June Patterson of Poplar Bluff; and several cousins. nieces, and nephews. Three brothers preceded him in death: Jerry, Freddie and Freeman, from 3 to 9 months old.

He was a member of the First Church of God in Poplar Bluff, accepting the Lord as his Savior October 14, 2013.

He was in the National Guard and also in U.S. Army Reserves.

He was a self-employed truck driver until 1994, when he started to work for Asa Asphalt in Advance, Mo., until his retirement. He drove a million miles with no accidents, receiving several safety awards. His second job was mowing the church yard, which he took great pride in.

A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, September 9th at 11 A.M. at the First Church of God in Poplar Bluff, Mo., 3482 South Westwood, with services beginning at 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, family request memorials be made to the First Church of God Building Fund or UCAN.
