Jimmy Ray Mangrum

January 1, 1962 — June 3, 2016

Jimmy Ray Mangrum, 54, of Wappapello, Mo., passed away, Friday, June 3, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Mangrum was born Jan. 1, 1962 in Portageville, Mo. He formerly worked as a supervisor at Plastene Supply Company in Portageville and had retired after 10 years with Noranda Aluminum Inc., in New Madrid. Mr. Mangrum enjoyed fishing, hunting playing pool and riding motorcycles.

Survivors include six children, Tonya Davis of Wardell, Mo., James Mangrum and Jimmy Mangrum, Jr. of Caruthersville, Mo., Dylan Keithley of Steele, Mo. and Eric Cornett and Max Cornett of Gideon, Mo.; his father, Jimmie Jones of Palm Springs, Fla.; his special friend, Teri Rapert of Charleston, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Dicky Bond of Portageville; and two sisters, Gail Gennis of Oklahoma and Sheila Harrison of Clarkton, Mo.

Mr. Mangrum was preceded in death by the parents who raised him, Zelma and James Marshall, his mother, Shirley Collie, a brother, Danny Bond and a sister, Debbie Taylor.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Wappapello, Mo. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral chapel with Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will follow at Little Brushy Cemetery adjacent to the funeral home.
