J.M. ""Mac"" Hixson, 88, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Hixson was born Aug. 21, 1923 in Charleston. Mo. He was a member of First Church of God, and had retired as a tax preparer at Desgranges Bookkeeping and Tax Service. Mr. Hixson was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, and served as a medic in the Rhinelands of Central Europe. He enjoyed golfing and bowling, and was inducted in the Poplar Bluff Bowlers Hall of Fame.
On May 9, 1974, he married Martha Ruth Dees in Poplar Bluff. She preceded him in death on Dec. 3, 1980. On March 2, 2007, he married Mildred Macom in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Richard Triplett officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
