Jo Ann Shields, 73, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 07, 2015 at Westwood Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Shields, daughter of the late Homer Franklin Brannan and Anna Lucille (Cox) Brannan was born June 21, 1942 in Poplar Bluff. She attended the Cowboy Church and was a former clerk for Farmers Cash Lawn and Garden. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, flowers and sewing.
On March 27, 1965 she married James Henry Shields II in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include three children: James (Jim) Henry Shields III (Tammy Ann), Terry Alan Shields (Connie L.) and Tammy Jo Shields all of Poplar Bluff, five grand-children: James Henry Shields IV, Kendra Shields, Ruth Reddish, Angle Ringstaff and Vanessa Ringstaff; and a sister: Janet Lynn Smith of Valley Park, Mo.
A brother, Larry Paul Brannan and a grandson, Joshua Tyler Grant also preceded Mrs. Shields in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015 in the funeral chapel with Pastor Brett Randall officiating. Burial will follow at noon Tuesday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
