Joanne (Braschler) Wylie

August 8, 1931 — April 22, 2012

JoAnne Wylie, 80, a longtime resident of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Wylie was born Aug. 8, 1931 in Doniphan, Mo. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Wylie was an Insurance Broker and a member of the Missouri Independent Insurance Association. She was also a member of Green Thumb Garden Club, and a former member of Travel Study Club, and Monday Study Club. Mrs. Wylie previously served as president of the Mark Twain PTA and volunteered with Girl Scouts, Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, Southeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging EVE Project and many other community activities. She enjoyed embroidery, making quilts, flowers, talking to her friends and family gatherings.

Mrs. Wylie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Frank Wylie, on Dec. 21, 2011.

Surviving are two sons, Daniel F. Wylie and companion, Gail Burpo, of Moscow Mills, Mo., and Joel B. Wylie and wife, Kelly, of Ozark, Mo.; three daughters, Janet Wylie of Crestwood, Mo., Debby Wylie Holt and husband, Ben, and Kati Wylie Ray and husband, Steve, all of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Ed Braschler of Doniphan, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Courtney Danner and husband, Jeff, of Huntsville, Ala., Jared Wylie and wife, Christine, of St. Louis, Mo., Derek Koehn and Courtney Koehn, both of Ozark, Mo., Sarah Holt of Ridgeland, Miss., Hannah Holt of Fayetteville, Ark., Chuck Ray of Vista, Calif., Elizabeth Ray and Blane Ray, both of Poplar Bluff; two great-grandchildren, Nathan Danner and Reagan Danner, both of Huntsville, Ala.

Her parents, Gilbert and Mary Braschler of Doniphan, Mo., also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral chapel with Pastor Bob Featherston officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
