Joe H. Jordan

Joe H. Jordan, 60, of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010 at his residence.

Mr. Jordan was born March 27, 1950 in Dexter, Mo. He was a long time employee of the Daily American Republic until health forced his retirement in February 2010 after over 30 years of employment. Mr. Jordan was also a member of the Poplar Bluff Lions Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, being outdoors, reading, attending classic car shows and showing classic cars.

On July 10, 1971, he married Tammy Henn in Poplar Bluff. She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Blair N. Jordan of Springfield and Justin Brown and wife Brandi of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren, Blake Brown, Kamden Brown and Jacob Scott of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Kathryn ""Kathy"" Dreyer and husband, R.C. of Ingram, Tex., Lois Messer and husband Fred of Kerrville, Tex. and Carolyn Whittle and husband, Dowell of Harper, Tex.; four brothers, Charles L. ""Chuck"" Jordan and wife, Nondis of Qulin, Mo., Jerry W. Jordan and wife, Joell of Perryville, Mo., Larry Jordan and wife, Sharon of Galena, Mo. and Carl Jordan and wife, Lola of Sedalia, MO.; and special friends, Mark and Susan Lawson and Dennis and Jeana McCoy all of Poplar Bluff.

His parents, Hayward and Ethel (Fourthman) Jordan, preceded Mr. Jordan in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Chapel with the Rev. Jim Hoyt officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
