John B. Barker

John B. Barker, 92, formerly of Poplar Bluff, passed away June 12, 2015, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, MO.

Mr. Barker was born December 9, 1922, in Neelyville, Mo, to the late John Franklin and Effie Boyer Barker. On December 30, 1945, he and Wilma Mae Graves where married in Ft. Scott, KS. She preceded him in death on July 11, 2007.

Mr. Barker was a member of the First Christian Church in Poplar Bluff, had served his country as a Sea Bee in the United States Navy and enjoyed horses and gardening. He had retired as a manager of maintenance with Ozark Border.

Survivors include a son, Randy Barker (Eddisu), of Grove, OK; three grandchildren: Craig Jeffrey Barker, (Amy), Anna Shed (Kevin) and Tim Cox (Heather), and eight great-grandchildren.

Along with his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers and a grandson, Eric Todd Barker.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Mr. Barkers honor to the Missouri Veterans Home, 1600 S Hickory St., Mt. Vernon, MO 65712
