John Monroe Evans, 66, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Evans, who had been disabled since birth, was born April 18,1947 in Poplar Bluff to the late Woodrow and Mildred (Shoat) Evans. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Evans enjoyed spending time with his family and extended family and caregivers at Oakdale Care Center, listening to country music and watching western movies.
Survivors include a sister, Pat Rozman (Joe) of Poplar Bluff; and two brothers: Dean Evans (Janie) of Thomaston, Ga. and Ted Evans (Cindy) of Poplar Bluff; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will be at Black River Cemetery off JJ highway in Butler County.
