John Carl Guy Sr., 87, of Bunker, MO passed away Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Guy was born Feb. 12, 1926 in Windsor, MO. He was a member of Crossville Southern Baptist Church in Bunker, and had retired from the Ford Dealership in Licking, MO. Mr. Guy was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, woodworking, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his daughter, Vickie Guy Mersman of Independence, MO; stepdaughter, Tina Berry of Oak Grove, MO; stepson: Harrison ""Woody"" Turner of Bunker, MO; four grandchildren: Cristy Snow of Kansas City, MO, Sonita Martin of Independence, MO, and Shawna Guy and Dionna Guy both of Kansas City, MO; and three sisters: Velma Henderson of California, MO, Virginia Guy of Hendersonville, TN and Lucille Vaughn of Houston, MO.
His parents, Ira Alvis and Delilah Ruth Johnson Guy Penrose , son, John Guy, sister, Nellie Long, and brother, Cecil Guy preceded him in death.
A graveside service with full military honors will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO with Chaplain Mickie Kniffen officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
