John Robert Pigg

John Robert Pigg, 87, of Wappapello, Mo. passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Pigg, the son of the late John Leslie and Lola Dorothy (Kennedy) Pigg, was born Feb. 5, 1929 in Mt. Vernon, Ill. He was a retired factory worker and proudly had served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force. Mr. Pigg enjoyed family get togethers and fishing.

In 1953, he was married to Shirley Osborn, who preceded him in death in 1993. In 1997, he married Margaret Hefner. She preceded him in death in 2012.

Survivors include a son, Alan (Teresa) Pigg of Wappapello; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Toney of Ft. Smith, Ark. and Linda Prince of Poplar Bluff. Two children, Terry Pigg and Jane Pigg, a sister, Bonnie Tracey and a brother Leslie C. Pigg preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10th at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, 8172 Highway T, Wappapello, MO. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12th at Olson Funeral Chapel in Genoa, Ill. Burial with full military honors will follow at Genoa Cemetery.
