John W. Taylor, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016.
Mr. Taylor, the only child of James and Edith Taylor, was born March 4, 1930 in McCrory, Ark. He retired in 1994 as a regional sales representative for the Balfour Class Ring Company. Mr. Taylor was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. After retirement, Mr. Taylor enjoyed spending time on his farm in Grandin, Mo.
On June 8, 1950, he married the former Lula Mae Lewellen of McCrory, Ark. She preceded him in death on March 1, 1976. He is survived by their three children, Patricia (Charley) Reed of Springfield, Mo., Edith Jane (Danny) Fender of Lakeland, Ga. and Camille (Bob) MacDonald of Poplar Bluff.
On Jan. 14, 1978, he married Macye Ann Metz of Poplar Bluff. She survives. He is also survived by his three step-children, Karen (Jim) Medley of Springfield, Mo., Melissa (Doug) Matthews of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and James Metz of Poplar Bluff.
Other survivors include ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and his brother-in-law, Waymon Lewellen of Springfield, Mo.
A family graveside service and burial was held on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff. The Rev. Jim Schremp officiated.
