Johnny Quentin Miller, Jr., 44, passed away on May 9, 2018, at his home in Longview, TX. Mr. Miller was born on September 13, 1973 in Poplar Bluff, M0, to the late Johnny Miller, Sr. and Ruther Hollis Miller Anderson.
Mr. Miller was of the Baptist Faith he attended Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist church from the age of 4 until the age of 17. He confessed hope in the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized at the age of 17 in Hillsboro, Mo before joining the US Navy. He completed basic training at Great Lakes, IL.
Mr. Miller played little league sports soccer, baseball and 8th grade basketball for the Poplar Bluff Mules. Mr. Miller, and his father the late Johnny Miller, Sr., loved watching the Laker Basketball team together.
His most repeated Bible scriptures were the 23 psalm and Philippians 4:13. He was an avid history enthusiast, loved gospel and country music, and Motown music. He was also a collector of Navy airplanes, enjoyed a party and would barbecue most holidays and weekends.
He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Christy Michelle Farmer on November 16, 1993 at Norfolk, VA. Christy lovingly called her husband (JQ). However, Christy Miller passed away December 14, 2017 and no children were born to this union. Mr. Miller was trained as a heavy equipment operator, worked for the Longview Street Department, and worked the oil fields in TX.
Mr. Miller leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Ruther (Charles) Anderson of Poplar Bluff, MO; his uncles, Edward Miller, Ardell Miller, Carl Miller, Ferdie Reed Jr (Helen), Dennis Hollis (Emma); his cousins Karmel Hollis, Andrew Hollis, and Dante Hollis; aunts, Bessie Miller, Linda Miller, Eveline Miller; his grandmother, Mary Hollis; great- aunts, Eletha Small and Mable Tipton; additional cousins: William Miller Jr, Willie Small Jr, Ferdie Maurice Reed III, Ardell Miller Jr, Michael Allen, John Ellis, Terry Miller; Andrew Miller a "godly mentor" and friend Mr. Glenn Dennis; and a "grand canon" of cousins, relatives and friends, Francis Johnson, Sue Benton, Linda Miller, Ida Miller, JoAnn Miller.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 10-11:00 a.m. at Moore Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following visitation at 11:00 a.m. in the Moore Funeral Service Chapel.
