Joseph Allen Clark

June 30, 1946 — September 24, 2012

Joseph Allen Clark, 66, of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Mr. Clark was born June 30, 1946, in Benton, Mo. He was a member of Kerns Chapel in Stringtown, Mo., and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War. During his early years he worked as a millwright and was later a self-employed electrician. Mr. Clark enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, working on tractors, fishing and hunting.

On April 30, 1969, he married Charlene Jeanette Mills in Elizabethtown, NC. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include 3 children, Donna Jo Clark and Joseph Allen Clark II and wife, Teresa, all of Poplar Bluff and Colonel Wesley Clark and wife, Julie, of Langlois, Ore.; 13 grandchildren: Lino Mejehrado, Nathan Peak, Jordan Peak, Natalie Murdock, Melissa Ann Clark, Derek Alan Jeffery Clark, Wesley Allen Duane Clark, Joseph Allen Clark III, Jaydon Thomas, Brandon Smith, David Wesley Clark, Katelyn Irene Clark and Charlene Elizabeth Clark; one great-grandchild, Jacob Matthew Clark; and 3 brothers, Roy Clark, Jr. and wife, Suzzette, of Winston, Ore., Harold Edward Clark, of Coquille, Ore., and Elbert Eugene Clark and wife, Brenda, of Bandon, Ore.

His parents, Roy Sr. and Minnie Lee (Pruett) Clark and a daughter, Christine Jeanette Peak preceded Mr. Clark in death.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel with Rev. Jimmy Bruce officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City, Mo.
