Joseph Lester Hicks, 82, of Cabot, Ark. departed this life on Thursday, June 24, 2010.
Mr. Hicks was born Feb. 8, 1928 in Olney, Okla. to the late Joseph and Thula Hicks. He lived a long, full life, faced adversity with his health, and never complained.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. Most of all, Mr. Hicks was a loving father and grandfather who adored his family. His sense of humor was the most memorable trait he possessed and his love of playing practical jokes. His two daughters, Jolean Brindley and husband Jordan of Cabot, Ark. and Frances Sue Hicks of Porterville, Calif. survive Mr. Hicks. Mr. Hicks also leaves behind a legacy of 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
His first wife, Levina, son, Leslie, and daughter Linda and one great grandchild preceded Mr. Hicks in death. His parents, four brothers and two sisters also preceded him.
