Josie Ann (Hofer) Zimmerman

Josie Ann Zimmerman, 80, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Deland, Fla. died Monday, Dec. 12, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Zimmerman was born Nov. 6, 1931 in Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was active in the J.O.Y. Ministry, and was a homemaker. While living in Florida, Mrs. Zimmerman owned and operated Stroud Dry Cleaners, and after moving to Poplar Bluff she owned and operated Josie's Alterations. She enjoyed spending time with her family, the J.O.Y Ministry at church, traveling and sewing.

On Oct. 17, 2009, she married William ""Bill"" Zimmerman in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Zimmerman survives of the home.

Other survivors include four children, Margaret Miller and husband, Steve of Walnut, Calif., Charles Marks and wife, Nadezhda of Tecumseh, Mich. Edith Henson and husband, Carl of Poplar Bluff and Craig Marks and wife, Dawn of Wells, Minn.; three step-children, Wade Zimmerman and wife, Sheila Ann, Cynthia Zimmerman and Sheila Wayne and husband Charlie all of Malden, Mo.; 12 grandchildren, Joellen LeBlanc, Brian Miller, Tina Dowling, Bill Marks, Alexander Ustinov, Sergey Ustinov, Billy Francisco, Maria Francisco-Tinsley, Krissy Jones, Andrew Marks, Dennea? Marks and Kelsy Marks; 11 great-grandchildren, Dylan Dowling, Eoin Dowling, Niah Dowling, Tyler Marks, Daniel Francisco, Tristen Francisco, Brooke Francisco, Alexis Tinsley, Austin Tinsley, Lukas Tinsley and Addisen Tinsley; and two brothers, David Hofer and Gordon Hofer both of California.

Her parents, Ernest William and Edith (Cooley) Hofer, stepson, Garland Zimmerman, sisters, Margaret Larson and Donna Hofer, and brothers, Hank Hofer and Bob Hofer preceded Mrs. Zimmerman in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Chapel with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will follow at Elder Cemetery in Dunklin County, Mo.
