Joyce Marie (Laushine) Reed

Joyce Marie Reed, 78, of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Reed was born Aug. 1, 1933 in St. Louis County, Mo. She was of the Lutheran faith, and had retired after 30 years as owner and secretary of Bluff Trash Service. Mrs. Reed enjoyed spending time with her family, collecting birdhouses, bowling and the watching the St. Louis Cardinals.

On April 7, 1951, she married Thomas Lee Reed. Mr. Reed preceded her in death on March 4, 2001.

Survivors include three children, Michael Reed and Richard ""Tex"" Reed and wife Vicki all of Poplar Bluff and Carol Liford of Palm Bay, Fla.; three grandchildren, Christina Reed of Poplar Bluff, Jennifer Acklin and husband Adam of Little Rock, Ark. and Chad Reed and fiance, Stacey Weis of Melbourne, Australia; and a great-grandson, Anderson Reed Acklin of Little Rock, Ark.

Her parents, Leo F. and Marie (Frein) Laushine also preceded Mrs. Reed in death.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Chapel with Pastor Marty Reed officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
