James Michael Peters, 64, of Wappapello, MO passed away on Monday, February 5, 2019 at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

He was born on October 20, 1954 to August and Dorothy (Andel) Peters in El Campo, TX. He proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. JP was a member of the Wappapello Eagles for 30 years and held several positions on the board.

He moved from Texas over 30 years ago and was a carpenter and built several houses and remodeling around Wappapello. He enjoyed sitting outside and watching wildlife. Most of all, he loved his family.

JP is survived by his life partner, Judy Agoian of Wappapello, MO; four children, Jason (Cindy) Crabb of Wappapello, MO, Misty Crabtree of Hearne, TX, Erin (Brandon) Dumey of Puxico, MO, and Nisa (Chad) McKuin of Poplar Bluff, MO; twelve grandchildren, Allee Crabb, Duncan Crabb, Julian Crabb, Joey Mottu, B.J. Mottu, Zachary Loftis, Dillon Loftis, Madison Loftis, Bailey Dumey, Negan Dumey, Jarett McKuin, Jordynn McKuin; one great-grandchild, Ayden Loftis; his parents, August and Dorothy Peters; four sisters, Joann (Carl) Petrosky, Janie Kveton, Dorothy Klein, Carol (Kelley) Hope; and three brothers, Ronnie (Thelma) Peters, and Donnie Peters, Jeffrey (Darlene) Peters.

He was preceded in death by one brother, August Peters, Jr.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 in the Moore Funeral Service Chapel
