Juanita Ione Arant

Juanita Ione Arant, 89, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 22, 1920 in Dermott, Ark. Juanita's No. 1 priority in life was serving others, whether it be her large family or in the nursing profession. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and was
one of the beginning nurses for Lucy Lee Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis H. and Teelley Boyet; beloved son, Jerry Arant; brothers, Louis H. ""Shimmy"" Boyet and Hugh Parker ""Bo"" Boyet; and sister, Dorothy Jean Forrest.
Juanita is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Hugh C. Arant; and daughter-in-law, Libby Arant both of Poplar Bluff; daughter, Sherry Huffman and son Mike of Mill Spring; son, Steve Arant and wife Vicki of Tulsa, Okla.; nine grandchildren: Angie Swasho of St. Louis, Sherry Helm of Cape Girardeau, Keith Huffman and wife Sherry and Stephanie Misner and husband Terry all of Poplar Bluff, Trevor Huffman and wife Monica of Jacksonville, Ill., Bryce Huffman and wife Donica of Golden, Colo., Jason Arant and wife Kim of Guayama, Puerto Rico, Brian Arant and wife Becca and Kendall Arant of Dallas, Tex.; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister Betty Qualls of Decatur, Ala.; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Chapel with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
