Juanita Martha Brown, 88, of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Brown was born May 2, 1924, in Naylor, Mo. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where until her health began to decline had been very active in church activities, and had retired from International Shoe Company. Mrs. Brown enjoyed her church, and sewing.
On Feb. 3, 1962, she married James Herbert Brown. Hr preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1981.
Survivors include two stepchildren, James H. ""Jim"" Brown Jr., of Little Rock, Ark., and Judith Ann ""Judy"" Lee, of Texas; six step-grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary J. Morrow and husband, J.P. of Poplar Bluff; a nephew and caregiver, James Ward and wife, Joy, of Poplar Bluff as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Her parents, James Madison and Clara Etta (Bassford) Raper, sisters, Wilma Ward and Luretta Dunning and brothers, Whitson Raper, Paul Raper and Curtis Raper also preceded her in death.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel with Rev. Dwayne Foster officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
