Juanita Willodene Mcginley

Juanita ""Willodene"" McGinley, 87, of Blue Springs, Mo., formerly of Poplar Bluff passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013.

Mrs. McGinley was born Sept. 11, 1925 in Qulin, Mo. She was of the Assembly of God faith and had retired in 1993 from the St. Louis School District as an executive secretary. Mrs. McGinley enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, watching the clouds, dancing and flower gardening.

On June 11, 1944 she married Max J. McGinley. He preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1991.

Survivors include her children: James McGinley (Patricia) of Fredericktown, Mo., Kathleen McGinley Rusert (Carl) of Blue Springs, Mo., Dennis Swan (Sharon) of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Kevin Swan (Connie) of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; nephews, Jerry Wilkes (Rita and Leo Wilkes (Terry) all of Poplar Bluff; and special companion, Walter McGhee of Poplar Bluff.

Her parents, Claude R. and Ollie (Lee) Wilkes and sister, Maxine Hall also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral chapel with Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to United Cancer Assistance Network (UCAN).
