Karen Renee Reed

Karen Renee Reed, 44, of Kansas City, Mo. died unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009 at her residence.

Ms. Reed was born Sept. 17, 1965 in Poplar Bluff. She was an active member of Charity Church of Kansas City, and was self employed as a Licensed Massage Therapist. Ms. Reed enjoyed her church and spending time with her family, friends and acquaintances.

Survivors include her father, Ferdie Reed of Broseley; five sisters: Linda Thomas and Ann Reed both of St. Louis, Sharon Greenleaf, Patricia Reed and Kathryn Reed all of Kansas City; four brothers, Windell Reed of Houston, Tex., Ferdie Reed, Jr. of Nashville, Tenn., David Reed of St. Louis and Paul Reed of Burlington, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Ms. Reed was preceded in death be her mother, Lillie Mae (Arrington) Reed and sister, Brenda Colbert.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon Friday at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at Broseley. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Andrew Jefferson officiating. Burial will be at Morocco Cemetery.
