Katherine Lynn

Katherine Lynn, 94, departed this life on May 4, 2010, at Riverways Manor Nursing Home, Van Buren, Mo. A homemaker and life long resident of Poplar Bluff, she was the oldest of 7 children born to Earl and Josie McMahan Aldridge, all of whom preceded her in death.

She was married to Grant Lynn in March 1936, who also preceded her in death, as well as 2 children, Kay Lynn Oliver and Max Lynn.

Surviving are two children, Ray Lynn of Colorado Springs, Co. and Joyce Lynn Keathley of Van Buren; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She loved people, music and dancing; volunteered many years at the Poplar Bluff VA Hospital; served as Vice President and Chaplain of the 14th district American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 153. She was a member of the Katy Kell Circle of the First United Methodist Church of Poplar Bluff, and a Charter member of Poplar Bluff Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She always had encouragement and a smile for everyone. Relatives and friends will miss the friendship of Katherine Lynn.

Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral service beginning at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
