Katherine Jeannette (Navrestad) Nelson

Katherine Jeannette Nelson, 80, of Poplar Bluff, and formerly of San Diego, CA passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Nelson was born on Sept. 27, 1932 in Westby WI, to Haakon and Jensine Aberg Navrestad. She was of the Methodist faith, and from 1982-2002 she worked as secretary for the Deputy Director of the San Diego City Park and Recreation Department, when she retired.

Survivors include her children, Kari Jacobs (Dan), of Poplar Bluff, Karla Cano (Joey), of Sacramento, CA, and Kirk Nelson (Pam), of San Diego, CA; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Olav Navrestad, of Madison, WI.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:30 P.M. Sunday afternoon at Westwood Baptist Church, 419 CR 5231, in Poplar Bluff with Dr. Steve Proctor officiating.
