Keith Dean Bishop, 61, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on May 6, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.
Keith was born on July 21, 1964, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was a devoted husband of 42 years to Mary Jean Bishop and a proud father to Michael Bishop and Miranda (Patrick) Krishna. Nothing brought him greater joy than being “Papaw” to his beloved grandchildren: Legend, Vivian, and Kate Krishna, and Gemma Bishop.
Many knew Keith as the “Dr Pepper Man,” a familiar face and friend to so many throughout the years. He spent many years as a truck driver and was known everywhere he went for his kindness, humor, and hardworking spirit. Keith never met a stranger, and he would do anything for anyone without ever asking for anything in return.
Keith loved the outdoors and found joy in life’s simple pleasures — hunting, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, spending time at the lake, and being surrounded by family. He was a member of Palace of Praise Church.
To know Keith was to love him. He was funny, dependable, compassionate, and deeply loved by everyone, fortunate enough to know him. His family considers him one of the greatest men they have ever known, and his absence leaves a space that can never be filled.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the memories, laughter, and unconditional love he gave so freely throughout his life. We know he is fully healed in paradise with our Lord.
Keith is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, sister, Karla (Bryan) Booher, brothers, Steve (Patty), Darren Bishop; along with a host of family and friends.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Freda Joan Bishop and Dale Porter Bishop; brother, Porter Bishop; and mother-in-law, Mary Polin.
Visitation will be from 11:30-1:00, Monday, May 11, 2026, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff, MO. Funeral services will follow beginning at 1pm with Pastor Randy West officiating. Burial will take place at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
