Kenneth Sadler

Kenneth Sadler, age 74, of Wappapello, MO, passed away on July 26, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, stories, and love shared with his family and friends.

Born on October 8, 1951, in Poplar Bluff, MO; he was the son of Alfred “Sonny” and Sadie (Anderson) Sadler. After graduating high school, Ken joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Following his military service, he developed a love for travel and a passion for cooking for others. That passion led him to own a restaurant, participate in barbecue competitions, and readily volunteer to cook for gatherings of family and friends. He later began a career as a truck driver, which allowed him to travel the country.

Above all, Ken loved his family. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren. Ken rarely missed the opportunity to support his grandkids in their activities. Whether he was sitting in the stands or listening to them tell all about it afterward, he was always proud to be part of their lives.

He felt most at home outdoors; fishing, boating, camping, and spending time on the river or at the lake were some of his favorite ways to enjoy life. Some of the family’s best memories were made near the water, around a campfire, on a boat, or from the seat of a Jeep or UTV. A proud and patriotic man, Ken had a deep love for his country. He believed in loyalty, family, hard work, and enjoying the simple things in life.

He is survived by his children, Chris (spouse, Sarah) Sadler and Liz Stanley; grandchildren, Chloe and Castin Sadler; nieces and extended family members, and many friends that he considered family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Stephen Sadler and Saundra Kidd.

Gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 05, 2026, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff, MO. Memorial service to follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Darryl Friday officiating. Full military honors and committal service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 06, 2026, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO. 

While his family will miss him more than words can express, they will carry him with them each time they gather by the river or spot an eagle overhead.
