Kimmie Sue Bassett

Kimmie Sue Bassett, 61, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Kimmie was born on July 30, 1965, to Enoch and Mary (Huddleston) Hoskins in Van Buren, Missouri. She married the love of her life, James "Jim" William Bassett in Doniphan in 1991.

Kimmie was of the Christian faith and attended church at Second Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. She was dedicated to her job and a very hard-working woman. Kimmie was a loving and caring wife and mother. She was also a great listener and confidant, making sure her loved ones knew she had their back and felt supported no matter what.

Kimmie loved all animals and rescued countless furry friends throughout her life. In her spare time, she enjoyed completing puzzles, playing games on her phone, and watching tv. Kimmie and her late husband Jim proudly competed in the Senior Olympics for five years. She brought joy to all those around her and loved her family fiercely.

Kimmie is survived by her daughter, Kimberlee (James) Evans; three sisters, Anita Chitwood, Gabrielle Adams, and Faye Terrance; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

Kimmie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Bassett; two brothers, Enoch Hoskins and Amon Hoskins.

Gathering will be held on Monday, November 02, 2026, from 2:00-3:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Memorial Service will follow beginning at 3:00pm with Pastor Curtis Crowley officiating.
