Larry J Morgan

Larry J. Morgan died Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at his home. He was born April 26, 1943, in Holcomb, Missouri to Lee Odis Morgan and Helen Louise (Lesley) Morgan. He and Joann Bilbrey Morgan were married Feb. 9, 1963 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He was a member of the Grand Avenue Baptist Church and retired from Riggs Wholesale in 2005 after 37 years. His hobbies included gardening and telling stores. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. They were the light of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Joann; two daughters, Carol Ann Morgan and Lisa (Tim) Stricklin both of Poplar Bluff; four brothers, Jim (Jean) Morgan of Poplar Bluff, Allen (Karen) Morgan of Poplar Bluff, Jerry (Elaine) Morgan of Jackson, Tenn., and Don (Jill) Morgan of Searcy, Ark.; three sisters, Darlene Murgaw of Marion, Ind., Linda (Steve) Robinson of Centerton, Ark. and Vicki (Bill) Cox of Poplar Bluff; one grandson, Gary (Amy) Carl of Kansas City, Kans.; two granddaughters, Melanie (Jacob) Dewitt and Morgan Stricklin both of Poplar Bluff; three great-granddaughters, Sofia and Lilli Carl of Kansas City, Mo., and Madison Dewitt of Poplar Bluff; one great-grandson, Jaxson Dewitt due November 2017 and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Odis and Helen Morgan.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel with the Rev. Shelvie Stephens officiating with the Rev. Steve Patterson and Rev. Gregory Kirk assisting. Burial will be at City Cemetery.
