Larry R. "Bucky" Whitt

Larry Ray “Bucky” Whitt, 67, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Whitt, the son of the late Mirl and Helen Ward Whitt, was born Feb. 3, 1950 in Poplar Bluff. He was a self-employed contractor and was known for home remodeling and construction. Mr. Whitt enjoyed spending time with his family, woodcarving and playing the violin and fiddle.

On Nov. 29, 1975, he married Sandra Smith in Poplar Bluff. She survives.

Other survivors include seven children: Tammy Whitt (Leland) Rogers, Stephanie Cleveland, Kevin Smith, Brian Whitt, Shanna (Brian) Miller, Carrie (Charles) Hall and Christina Whitt; 19 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren with four more on the way; a sister, Linda Garrison; a brother, Dewayne Whitt; and a host of friends.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. Rev. David Thomas will officiate and Rev. Alvie Richmond will assist.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations may be made to the family in care of Cotrell Funeral Service.
