Laura J. Porterfield

Laura J. Porterfield, 92, of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Porterfield was born Jan. 10, 1918 in Williamsville, Mo. She was a Charter Member of West Side Church of God, had served as a volunteer for John J. Pershing VA Medical Center. Mrs. Porterfield had retired from the Florsheim Shoe Co. She enjoyed singing, crocheting and bowling.

On Dec. 23, 1939, she married Albert Lee Porterfield. He preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1995.

Survivors include a son, Gary Lee Porterfield of Bonne Terre, Mo.; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lora Huddleston of Calif. and Mae Grissom and Virgie Diamond both of Poplar Bluff; and two brothers, Paul Howard of Harker Heights, Tex. and Bill Howard of Poplar Bluff.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bruce Underhill officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
