Laveta Gentle

Laveta Gentle, 72, of Doniphan, MO, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at her residence.

Mrs. Gentle was born February 25, 1941, in Kirksville, MO.

On March 5, 1958, she married Howard B. Gentle Jr. in Edina, MO. He survives of the home.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, and volunteered with VBS and in the Nursery and Friends. She was a military wife and did volunteer work in military hospitals while her husband served on active duty. She enjoyed spending time with her family, was an avid bowler and loved sports of any kind.

Survivors include 5 children: Laveta Ann Gibson and husband, Mike of Columbia, SC, Lorene McQuin and husband, Scott, of Wellington, KS, Douglas Gentle and wife, Donna, of Waynesville, MO, Richard Gentle and his wife Patty, of Columbia, SC, and Laura DeLuca and husband, Daniel, of Arlington, VA, eleven grandchildren: Kelly Gibson, Daniel Gibson, twins, Aaron and Ashley Gibson, Amanda Kleuner and husband, Brian, Christiana McQuin, Eric Neil Gentle and wife, Desire, Bryan Gentle and wife, Sofia, Sheryl Renee Gentle, Giuseppe DeLuca and Massimo DeLuca: three great-grandchildren: Carson Douglas Gentle, Cooper Dean Gentle and Quinn Adelle Gentle; three sisters: Shirley Hall and husband, Donald, of Edina, MO, Esther Marie Contralto and husband, Freddie, of Bevier, MO, and Brenda Ausmus and husband, Jeff, of Edina, MO, and four brothers: Larry Klocke and wife, Patty, of Edina, MO, Gary Klocke and wife, Peggy Sue, of Monroe City, MO, Darrell Klocke of Edina, MO, and Dale Klocke, of Macon, MO.

Her parents Ralph Neil and Edna Marie (Bradley) Klocke and twin sister, Laverne Nichols preceded Mrs. Gentle in death.

Visitation will be at Cotrell Funeral Chapel on Monday at 10:00 a.m., funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor William Vail officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, MO.
