LaVon M. Griffith, 82, of Wappapello, Mo. passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Griffith, the daughter of the late Alfred and Opal Vokes Busey, was born July 24, 1934 in Waterloo Iowa. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Griffith enjoyed spending time with her family and crafting, collecting bears and robins, fishing and a love of pets.

She was united in marriage to Don Griffith on July 8, 1953. He preceded her in death March 9, 2001. She later married, Billie Griffith on Feb. 5, 2002. He preceded her in death Nov. 2, 2010.

Survivors include six children; Debbie Griffith of Wappapello, Mo., Donnie Griffith, Cathy (Jim) Jensen both of Waterloo, Iowa, Brian (Karen) Griffith of Cook Minn., Patrick (Tammy) Griffith of Ottumwa, Iowa and Michael (Felicia) Griffith of Shreveport, La.; three stepchildren; David Griffith of Wappapello, Mo. and Vicki Cox and Lori (Emanual) Nso of Montclair, NJ; a sister, Marion Harralson of Troy, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Busey and two grandchildren.

A visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016 at Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel, 8172 Hwy T with a graveside service following at 11 a.m. at Little Brushy Cemetery with Rev. Ken Johnson officiating.
