Lawrence D. Poole

Lawrence D. Poole, 88, of Poplar Bluff formerly of Piedmont died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 at his residence.
Mr. Poole was born Jan. 11, 1920 in Anniston, Mo. He had retired as a sheet metal worker, and was a member of the Piedmont Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing pool.
On May 18, 1940 he married Sadie Crites in Greenville, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons: Ron Poole and his wife Doris, of Poplar Bluff and Don Poole and his wife Collene, of Imperial, Mo.; 6 grandchildren: Larry Poole, Rhonda Sullivan, Steve Poole, Mike Poole, David Poole and Mark Poole; and 8 great-grandchildren: Denise Martin, Kevin Poole, Kelli Poole, Sarah Sullivan, Kyle Poole, Tyler Atkins, Austin Poole and Brett Poole.
Mr. Poole was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence W. and Ladie Clara (Nieze) Poole.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel with Pastor Michael Poole officiating. Burial will follow at Black Creek Cemetery in Butler County.
