Lawrence P. Resnik

Lawrence P. Resnik, 87, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the residence of his daughter.

Mr. Resnik was born Jan. 8, 1923 in Stringtown. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was manager of C. G. King and Company until his retirement. Mr. Resnik enjoyed working with his cattle and taking care of his horse.

On May 10, 1941 he married Vineta P. Womack in Corning, Ark. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2009.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandy England and her husband Gary of Poplar Bluff; son, Ron Resnik and his wife Dianna also of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren: Michael England of Scottsdale, Ariz., Jan Allen and her husband Randy and Pam Cooper and her husband Bernard, all of Edmond, Okla., Jeffery Resnik and his wife Dilcia of Poplar Bluff and Todd Resnik and his wife Julia of Tulsa, Okla.; nine great-grandchildren: Heather Allen, Mikki Allen, Matthew Allen, Stephanie England, Avery England, Andrew England, Teylor Resnik, Trevor Resnik and Brettine Bivans; and a brother, Tony Resnik of San Francisco. Calif.

His parents, John and Frances (Strenfel) Resnik and 11 brothers and sisters preceded Mr. Resnik in death.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father David Coon officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
