Lee Roy Gowen

Lee Roy Gowen, 57, of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, July 24, 2006 at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Gowen was born Aug. 17, 1948, in Butler County to the late Ole Richard and Martha (Scott) Gowen. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired welder. Mr. Gowen was a highly decorated veteran of the United States Army, having served two tours in Vietnam and one tour in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion, the Eagles Lodge and the D.A.V. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

On Sept. 19, 1995, he married Darlene Badgett. She survives.

Other survivors include his daughter, Ellen Hutchison, of St. Charles; three step-children, Ronda Redding, of Poplar Bluff and Joseph Paul and Jerry Paul, of IN; eight grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Ann McFarland, of Doniphan; and two brothers, Bobby Gean Gowen and Raymond Gowen, both of Poplar Bluff.
