Leo Lafayette Fields, 84, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Fields was born May 30, 1926 in Pin Hook, Mo. He was a member of Agee Fellowship General Baptist Church, and had retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad. Mr. Fields enjoyed talking about the railroad, watching western movies, collecting rocks, fishing, and growing flowers and plants.
On Feb. 4, 1962 he married Ramona Kay Williams in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Other survivors include five children, Janna Gialketsis of Longview, Tex., Carla Westmoreland and husband, Scott of St. Charles, Mo., and Kevin Fields and special friend, Laura Lajeret, Mona Lisa Sincup and Dennis Fields all of Poplar Bluff; six grandchildren, Angela Gialketsis, Michael Gialketsis, Sarah Giaketsis, Christina Westmoreland, Scotty Westmoreland and Donald Sincup.
His parents, Jesse James and Lydia (Welker) Fields, a sister and five brothers preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel with Rev. Jim Hoyt officiating. Burial will be at New Oak Hill Cemetery in Butler County.
